Our Work

At ETC, we design secure, efficient data systems that empower educators and institutions with actionable insights about students. Our work focuses on helping schools and communities better understand and support each student’s unique path to success, both in school and beyond.

Building Statewide Digital Ecosystems

ETC is working with states to create digital ecosystems that connect systems and data in new ways. Our integrated approach is designed to:

Improve Student Outcomes

By connecting data across platforms, we provide insights that drive better educational support and long-term student success.

EnhanceOperationalEfficiency

We streamline processes for education agencies, allowing them to focus on their mission while saving time and resources.

Boost Economic Impact

Through collaboration and innovation, ETC is transforming how data serves our schools, agencies, and communities.

Our solutions help states leverage data to create opportunities that benefit not just students but entire communities, fostering economic growth and prosperity.

Primary Initiatives

P20W Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems

How can we better understand the journey from education to career? We're using P20W software to leverage secure open standards like Ed-Fi and CEDS, with a focus on seamless integration of data. The result empowers leaders to gain a complete view of the education-to-career pipeline.

Data Governance

When it comes to data governance, we start by focusing on student assessment data. How do we make meaning of all that data? By implementing better governance. We first establish a shared sense of where each data point should go within a given data model. What's more, having common definitions of what makes an assessment distinct helps us get accurate reporting and insights.

Universal Transcript

Today, students take classes everywhere. With Universal Transcripts, we aim to create student records that are comprehensive, standardized, and portable, spanning pathways from K–12 and postsecondary education all the way to the workforce. We hope to simplify processes like admissions, scholarship matching, and dual enrollment course-taking that counts for high school and college.

Learning Content Sharing

In a content-saturated world, how do states provide teachers with instruction about high-quality learning content that aligns with state standards? Our Learning Content Sharing efforts seek to answer this by bringing together advanced technology and human expertise. By fostering cross-state partnerships, we unlock new opportunities for shared growth and advancement.
